The legacy of my predecessors now withers before me
Facing entropy I’ve all but Cast aside my hopes and dreams
Can’t escape this apathy that festers in my being
When so much rage and hate still burns inside me
Potential for so much, and yet I come undone
Convictions turn to rust, chaos betrays my trust
But I keep waking up to fight another day
Just know that I refuse to die before I live my life
Call it a fear of failure
But I wasn't brought here to just give up and die
The blood of those who came before me
Pours down, stains this earth
And forms a path to change the world and honor the past
But this fear that holds me back
How can such a weightless thing feel like shackles at my feet
And a noose around my neck
I must break the bonds that hold me down and sharpen my newfound resolve
Because I refuse to die before I’ve lived my life
I can’t waste this life that I’ve been given, if there are those who would gladly take it
Don’t you dare give up on me
We can conquer our darkest enemies
Fight the voice that plagues your precious mind
These nightmares still haunt me every day.
